Addressing Redondo Beach’s Revenue Challenge

Redondo Beach’s revenue growth has not kept pace with inflation—sales tax revenue has increased only 6% over the past decade, while inflation has risen by 30%. Additionally, the number of business licenses has remained stagnant for five years. To secure our city’s future, we must attract the right businesses to fill vacant storefronts along PCH and beyond while supporting the success of our existing businesses.

I propose a city-led study to identify obstacles to economic growth, determine the types of businesses best suited for our community, and develop a targeted strategy to recruit and retain them. By fostering a business-friendly environment and actively marketing to desired industries, we can revitalize our commercial areas, boost city revenue, and enhance services for all residents.

Redondo Beach is a city we all love, and I am committed to keeping it that way. I will advocate for community-focused policies and ensure your tax dollars are spent responsibly.

Together, we can build a stronger, more sustainable future for District 1 and all of Redondo Beach.

I look forward to earning your vote and working together to move our city forward.
