Avenue H Bollards and Truck Routes
Torrance Public Works Director Craig Bilezerian recently informed us that Torrance has withdrawn its request to open Avenue H for holiday lights egress this year. This decision came after Redondo Beach required that any temporary opening include full-time Torrance Police traffic control to ensure safety. As a result, Avenue H will remain closed as usual during the holiday season, and this closure will appear on the consent agenda at our next City Council meeting for formal approval.
Torrance also notified us that it is withdrawing its offer to modify truck routes on Palos Verdes Boulevard. While this specific proposal is on hold, our two cities will continue working together to improve traffic safety and coordination along shared routes and neighborhood boundaries.
