Nike After Dark Tour Brings a Night of Music, Energy, and Celebration to Riviera Village

Something exciting is coming to Riviera Village!

On Saturday, October 24, the Nike After Dark Tour Los Angeles will bring a nighttime half marathon to Redondo Beach, with runners traveling through Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Torrance.

And while thousands of runners take to the streets, Riviera Village will be getting in on the action with its own special Riviera Village Takeover, featuring live music, special lighting, activities, and plenty of opportunities to cheer on the participants.

Riviera Village Becomes a Party Zone!

Nike is planning a festive atmosphere along South Catalina Avenue, transforming part of Riviera Village into a lively cheer zone for runners and spectators.

The plans include:

• Live music: A band will perform in front of Riviera House from 5 to 8 PM.
• BeachLife Riviera: An expanded patio area with turf and a satellite bar for guests 21 and older.
• Nike custom poster station: Make your own poster to cheer on the runners.
• Special nighttime lighting: Plans call for colorful lighting throughout the area, including red-lit palm trees and string lights in Nike After Dark colors.
• Cheer Zone activities: Cowbells, noisemakers, LED foam wands, and other ways to support the runners.
• Special business activations: Proposed custom drinks, branded merchandise, and opportunities for local businesses to participate.
• Music and light installations: Additional Nike activations along the running route, including a DJ, MC, and illuminated displays.

The heart of the celebration will be around South Catalina Avenue, Avenida Del Norte, and Vista del Mar, where spectators can experience the excitement as runners pass through Riviera Village.

Come Early, Stay for the Fun, and Support Local Businesses!

You don’t have to be a runner to participate!

Riviera Village is one of Redondo Beach’s most popular destinations for shopping, dining, and entertainment, and this event is another opportunity to enjoy everything our local businesses have to offer.

Consider coming early for shopping or dinner, staying to enjoy the music, and cheering on the runners as they make their way through the Village.

The combination of a major international sporting event and Riviera Village’s unique collection of restaurants, shops, and gathering places should make for a memorable evening.

Important Road Closure Information

The Nike After Dark Tour begins at 5 PM on Saturday, October 24, starting and finishing at King Harbor.

Road closures begin around 4 PM, and several streets in and around Riviera Village will be closed until approximately 8:15 to 9 PM.

Key closures include:

• South Catalina Avenue, from Palos Verdes Boulevard to Avenue A: 4 PM to 8:15 PM.
• Vista del Mar, from Esplanade to Camino de la Costa: 4 PM to 8:15 PM.
• Camino de la Costa, from Vista del Mar to South Catalina Avenue: 4 PM to 8:15 PM.
• Catalina Avenue, from Beryl Street to Esplanade: 4 PM to 9 PM.

Roads will reopen as runners clear the course. Parking restrictions and access changes will also affect the area, so plan ahead and consider arriving early.
