Applications Open: 2026 LA2050 Youth Ambassador Program

If you know a young person who cares about their community and wants a real seat at the table, this is an opportunity worth sharing.

Applications are now open for the 2026 LA2050 Youth Ambassador Program, a countywide initiative that empowers young Angelenos to engage directly in civic participation, philanthropy, and community leadership.

The LA2050 Youth Ambassador Program is designed for young people ages 14 to 24 who want to make an impact—whether by mobilizing their peers, learning how grantmaking works, or helping elevate the issues that matter most across Los Angeles County.

Two Ways to Get Involved

The program uses a two-tier model, allowing participants to choose the level of involvement that best fits their interests and availability.

General Cohort (Ages 14–24)

Participants build skills in community outreach and engagement through interactive virtual training sessions, then put those skills into action by encouraging friends, family, and neighbors to vote in the LA2050 Grants Challenge.

  • Timeline: March–May 2026
  • Time commitment: Approximately 12 total hours
  • Admissions: Rolling acceptance

This is a great entry point for students or young adults who want hands-on experience in civic engagement without a large time commitment.

Leadership Council (Ages 16–24)

Leadership Council members take on an expanded role. In addition to the General Cohort activities, participants will mentor peers, deepen their understanding of philanthropy and grant evaluation, and help review grant applications.

  • Timeline: March–August 2026
  • Time commitment: Approximately 32 total hours
  • Stipend: $500 volunteer gift
  • Application deadline: Thursday, February 12

This track is ideal for young leaders looking to build experience in leadership, public service, and decision-making at a regional level.

Why This Matters

Programs like LA2050 help ensure that youth voices are not only heard but also actively shaping how resources are invested in our communities. Participants gain practical experience, build networks, and develop skills that translate directly into future civic, nonprofit, and professional leadership.
